About Maalindog
Yes! I love me so much, don’t I?
I am Maalindog and I am DBSK-holic. *waaaaaaah! i finally said it!*
Well, they say the 1st step in getting rid of an addiction is admitting to it.
This is my first time in a fandom and quite honestly, I have only just gotten comfortable with it recently. When I was younger, I would always make an effort to NOT be a fan of any artists, particularly boybands. I managed to successfully do so for the past… erm, let’s not mention the number of years, shall we?
The first couple of weeks after discovering DBSK, I have cringed at myself even as I looked up more info about them, watched their shows, etc. I appreciated JPop and was looking up a band when I saw some comments about DBSK, a Korean band. I have always only been looking at Japanese entertainment (music, manga, anime, shows) and so I wasn’t that interested with bands from other countries. I can no longer remember why I decided to look up DBSK, but I was hooked by one of the members, Hero Jaejoong (visual shock strikes again). I looked them up further and they won a firm place in my ever-wandering attention after I watched Dangerous Love. I was already interested in yaoi/shounen-ai after being into manga and anime.
Like what I did with other artists I was interested in, I went through countless videos of them on-stage and behind the scenes. I found out they are also Tohoshinki in Japan, which was more reason for me to love them. I learned to love Junsu and Yoochun’s talent in singing, and Junsu and Yunho’s talent in dancing. I am amazed at Yoochun’s talent in composing and songwriting. Ah! Let’s not forget that I am also a YunJae and YooSu fan. My interest in Jaejoong is waning as it seems you have to know him personally to totally appreciate him. I admit to actively tone down my interest level as I felt it wasn’t healthy. I am working on getting interested in Changmin. Apparently you have to see and hear him perform live to be captivated.
There is one good side effect of all this though. I am now more interested in original Pinoy music. At first, it made me think they are so lucky to have such beautiful music and artists. Then, “I wonder what we have here in the Philippines.” But I won’t be getting into this too much here. That is a different story for another time.
To close, here is my current favorite music with a younger DBSK:
